When you take your photos on a weekly basis and your photographer pointed out that your face lacks some definition… then you should know that you’ve got to do something about it. That was what happened to me! After all these years of aesthetics enhancements, I still can’t find the courage to do plastic surgery even though it is quite common nowadays. I am too afraid that I may not like the results and they are irreversible.
Besides my jawline, my natural nose shape is another area on my face that I am not comfortable with. It is lack of height and projection.
I’d always believe that with slight enhancement on my nose, it will totally change my features. I’ve done nose fillers and nose threadlift before but that is more than a year ago.
I have decided to do my Nose Threadlift with Clifford Aesthetics.
Clifford Aesthetics is conveniently located in the heart of Raffles Place, they provide a comprehensive range of advanced medical aesthetic treatments, and they are tailored to suit the customer needs.
I went through a detailed consultation with Dr. Chow Yuen Ho and he pointed out there is a bit of deviation on my nose shape. The nose is slanted to the left and a single treatment of Nose Threadlift should be able to fix it. He focused on adding more height to my nose bridge and straighten the nose profile to make it more balance.
Allow me to explain more about the common questions related to Nose Threadlift, I’ve been receiving enquiries with regards to the treatment, and it seems like not many people have done this Nose Threadlift in Singapore.
Why choose Nose Thread Lift over Fillers?
This treatment is non-invasive and safe. As compared to nose fillers, the side effects for nose threadlift are, in fact, much milder. Nose Thread Lift is a non-surgical and minimally invasive procedure that immediately lifts, contours and shapes your nose without the risks of filler injections.
Injecting fillers into the nose carries some risks – the most serious being blindness. Although this is rare, it can still happen if the filler enters the blood vessel during injection. Filler injections, can potentially shift out of position, leaving your nose bridge broader and out of shape.
Based on my experience, I prefer the results of nose threadlift in comparison to results from nose filler. Filler is good if you only need to add the volume on the nose bridge areas to make it higher. However I feel that nose threadlift can do more than just adding the volume, it can also help to correct the shape of the nose. It will also instantly give a defined projection on the nose profile, which may not be achieveable with filler injections.
How long can nose threadlift last?
The embedded threads will completely dissolve after 6 to 8 months after the treatment. However, the nose will stay in its lifted position for another 8 to 12 months. If the treatment is repeated 9-12 months after the initial treatment, you can expect the result to be longer-lasting.
As for how long the results will really last varies from one individual to another, and it also depends on the number and thickness of nose threads used.
Is the procedure painful?
This was the most common questions I got from my readers and followers. I have a very high tolerance of pain, so I would rate the pain factor 2/10. It is generally very well tolerated by most patients because numbing medications (local anesthesia and numbing cream) are given before the insertion of threads. The most painful part was probably the injection of LA but it felt like nothing after that.
How about the downtime for nose threadlift?
I would say that there is almost no downtime. You can continue your daily activities right after the treatment. Expect mild to moderate swelling over the first few days, but recovery time is on average 2-3 days.
Right after the treatment, there will be a tiny injection mark at the tip of nose.
Day 2: The injection mark and swelling were still there. I had very faint bruising on the 2nd day, but it’s really not obvious and I could easily cover it with light make up. It was a little more sensitive when I touch the nose bridge area. However. I was able to wash and clean my face and nose areas as per normal.
Day 3-4: The mark is still there, mild swelling with faint bruising.
Day 5 onwards: There was no more swell and bruise. The injection mark took me about 1 week to fade off.
For aftercare, I try not to rub my nose for the next few days after nose threadlift treatment. The clinic also prescribed antibiotics, painkiller and topical cream to prevent infection.
What is PDO Threadlift?
A method of nose augmentation using Polydioxanone (PDO) Threads which lifts and tightens sagging skin tissue which has been scientifically proven to be fully bio-compatible. The procedure involves the implantation of fine, absorbable polydioxanone threads (similar to those used in medical suturing) into the subcutaneous layer of the skin using small needles which will stimulates our body’s intrinsic healing process to re-shape the nose. Nose threadlift provides lifting of the nasal bridge and nose tip, expected result are a scaffolding effect and enhancement nose profile.
The threads will produce effects in the skin: Instant Skin Lifting through mechanical effects; Cellular Renewel, through Collagen stimulation, and neovascularisation to improve skin texture, fine lines and elasticity and well as Skin Tightening, by contracting fat tissue. As the threads dissolve, collagen and tissue fibroblasts are stimulated, which further support the overall shape of the nose for a longer period of time.
Now let me share with you about my nose threadlift experience at Clifford Aesthetics Clinic and the result..
My Nose Threadlift Experience with Dr Chow Yuen Ho at Clifford Aesthetics
The whole process took around 45 minutes: 30 mins for numbing cream and 15 mins for injection of local anesthetic and insertion of the threads.
It started with marking the thread line on my nose with the marker. Dr Chow Yuen Ho explained how the threads were going in to the nose and the look that he was trying to achieve for me. After we both agreed, he proceeded with the injection of local anesthetic.
Once the area is numbed, Dr Chow began to insert threads into my nose from the nose tip, I felt nothing. I could only feel a little tightening and pressure on my skin surface. There is absolutely no pain!
Dr Chow is very friendly and he made me feel at ease throughout the treatment process by joking and chatting with me. He skillfully inserted a few threads on the nose bridge area to add the volume and added threads around the nose tip to balance my nose profile. I’ve got in total 4 threads insertion onto my nose bridge and 2 threads at the nose tip.
Dr Chow asked me if I would like to have more thread for higher nose bridge but I decided to keep it minimal so that it will look natural.
The number of nose threads required tailored from one individual to another depending on several factors such as the existing nose structure, the degree of enhancement desired and the budget.
The Result
I embraced the “Less is More” look when it comes to aesthetic enhancements. It is about getting the right amount done to suit your facial features, because ultimately, we want to look beautiful and yet still look as natural as possible.
I am quite happy with the result because this slight enhancement from a nose threadlift treatment helps to define and balance my nose profile in a subtle way. It looks so natural that people hardly notice that I’ve done something on my nose.
Here are before and after photos. My nose is sharper and higher, there is more definition on my nose. The photo in the right was taken immediately after the treatment; you can see that the instant result for threadlift.
On the photo taken just 3 days after treatment, I could see the effect of Nose Thread Lift, it’s not just accentuates my nose, but my facial features as well, overall it looks more defined! The enhancement was very minimal but it makes a difference on the photos.
You might want to consider nose threadlift to enhance your facial feature if you are into non-surgical nose enhancement. However, in order to achieve your desired nose threadlift results with minimal risk and discomfort, you should always approach a trained doctor with experience in performing nose threadlift procedures. The doctor would advice whether the procedure is suitable for you, how to best achieve your desired results and the procedure is performed in a safe manner.
I’ve received several compliments on the natural result, all thanks to Dr Chow Yuen Ho and Clifford Aesthetics.
