Deciding accomodation in Bangkok for your trip is such an easy peasy, because good accomodations are numerous! However choose the best of all might be a bit tough, somemore when it comes to best price.. Best hotel with best price doesn’t get along together. You have to pay exorbitant amount for your one night stay?!
Me and my friend Jen love aesthetic so much, thus we don’t mind to splurge at least one night at nice hotel everytime we go for travel. But we cut down on other days by staying at budget hotels, that’s the trick! On our recent trip, we decided to pick SO Sofitel among any other nice hotels in Bangkok. We didn’t regret spending a bit more over our budget, let’s find out why is it worth to spend for staying at SO Sofitel?!
This hotel created from stunning design collaboration by Thailand’s top five designers for each room design and fashion icon Christian Lacroix for their gorgeous hotel staff uniform. SO Sofitel conviniently located near to city’s MRT subway system, Lumpini Park station.
THE PARK LOBBY
Greeted by awesome lobby and friendly receptionists, this lobby located at 9th floor of the building. Upon check in as usual they will provide welcome drink and they will do short introduction about the hotel and send you to the room. I love how friendly the receptionists are and their uniform are so beautiful!
THE INFINITY POOL
With the panoramic views over the lush Lumpini Park, who can resist this awesome infinity pool view. Located at 10th floor with overall 32m pool length, this pool also offering the view of Bangkok city skyline as background.
FYI, on every last Saturday of the month, there’s always #SOPoolParty at this rooftop swimming pool.
THE ROOM – “SO COMFY WATER ELEMENT”
Here is description from hotel website about our room:
“Sophistication and Calm Dark pantone affirms the elegance, the stillness and mystical water. Dim the room and let Bangkok’s Skyline amaze the mind, whether from MyBed or the bathtub next to the window, the floor-to-ceiling windows becomes a living photo frame.”
First time saw this room from SO Sofitel IG, we attracted to the posh looking bathtub, then we check with hotel directly about the room. They responded and recommend this Water Element Room. Didn’t expect too much as long as we get the bathtub we want, we proceed to book the room.
Guess what, it was beyond expectation! We booked high floor and they gave us really good corner room. The full height window towards open view of Lumpini Park was astonishing! Guess what, we stayed at 28th floor just one floor below their Hi-So rooftop bar. The room technology are awesome too! Apple® Mac Mini media solution in all guest rooms, iPad use for suite guests and free Wi-Fi in all areas.
Inspired from the trees, soil, ponds, sunshine, and buildings that coexist within the heart of the city, five of Thailand’s leading designers were called on to tell their version of the story of the five elements — Water, Earth, Wood, Metal and Fire — in the top hotel in Bangkok. Guests can choose from a wide selection of rooms, from the lovingly-decorated SO Cozy and SO Comfy all the way up to the spacious and idyllic delights of SO Suite, SO Lofty and SO VIP Duplex Suite. THE BATHTUB
Hmm, can i say that i fall in love with this hotel because of their awesome bathtub view.. The view is insane! Look at the photos below… I love the bathtub shape, the contrast marble texture on the wall and the open view towards Lumpini Park with Bangkok city skyline.. View to die for?! Not forgetting our hardwork on decorating the bathtub haha..
THE DINING AREA
There are six F&B outlets around the hotel, Park Society Restaurant, Red Oven Restaurant, Chocolab Cafe, Mixo Bar, The Water Club Bar, and Hi-So Bar (one of the most gorgeous rooftop bar in Bangkok).
We had our breakfast at Red Oven Restaurant. It was mindblowing! The layout, the view, food selections and their service, could’t say enough, it was one of the perfect breakfast i’ve ever had (after my Santorini of course!). We requested for the best seat for our breakfast, look at that view?!
Thanks SO Sofitel for the great hospitality, i was so happy to be able to stay at your hotel..
Note: Psst they also have a very cute tuk tuk can help you to travel around.. And you can explore nearby cafes and shopping center at Sathorn area.
