From 16th – 21st March 2017, both distinct establishments (Smoke & Mirrors and Mitzo Restaurant) will be part of the annual Singapore Cocktail Festival, partaking in Asia’s largest celebration of cocktails. Here’s a cocktail and dimsum pairing we tried.

WaQar pisco, pastis, fresh green grapes, lemon juice, chrysanthemum syrup, Noilly prat dry vermouth, Peychaud’s bitters, egg white
~Paired with Royal Shrimp Dumpling
Ginseng Daiquiri
Ginseng and ginger infused Gosling’s dark rum, lime juice, simple syrup
~ Paired with Deep-Fried Octopus with Cumin Salt and Pepper
Pink Bubble
Zubrowka vodka, lychee liqueur, rose & apple syrup, cranberry juice, lime juice, CO2
~Paired with Char Siew Bun
Shiso Mojito
Cinnamon & orange zest infused Havana 3yrs rum, shiso liqueur, lime juice, white sugar, shisho leaves, ginger ale
~Paired with Crispy Duck Roll
Summer Botanic
Chamomile tea infused Ballantine finest whiskey, apricot brandy, rose & apple syrup, lemon juice, apple soda
~Paired with Poached Dumpling in Sichuan Sauce
I found that the concept is really interesting where your tastebud trying something different and unique, Cocktail pairing with savoury dimsum. It’s definitely worth to try!
My suggestion when you try their dimsum x cocktail pairing please try Mitzo famous char siew. Their Charsiew is amazing,! It’s burnt into perfection with very thick and crispy caramelized char siew sauce coating. Definitely the best charsiew i’ve ever tried in my life. I can even finish whole slab of char siew on my own..
