We love to explore iconic places, that’s one of the reason we spent our staycation at this hotel. My architect colleague always call this hotel “kueh lapis”, designed by WOHA.
And for me as a Landscape Architect, i really love the landscape concept here, so i was very curious to see with my own eyes. For us as a designer, there are always reasons why we choose to stay at certain hotel..
At the lobby, you will be welcomed by green wall and reflective pool with bubbling water accent and unusual edging treatment.
Waiting lobby with the full glass up to ceiling exposing the greenery background.
Love the treatment water feature, greenery as well as paving pattern. Something different and refreshing. This space is like enclosed pathwalk. Actually on the left side is the busy road, love the greenery treatment here creating a serene space.
This “kueh lapis”, reminiscing contour line for me, it’s actually inspired by the paddy terrace.
Another part of lobby area.
The hanging garden concept.
From outside.
Another side..
The spiral staircase beside the lobby..
Lift lobby towards the guest room.
Corridor walkway towards our room..
Opposite is actually HDB view.
Greenery is everywhere, this greenwall is beside our room, the are few voids along the corridor.
OHOHTEEDEE, start!
The Guest Room
Suprisingly the room is very spacious, even though we stay at Standard Room.
The interior design is not so fantastic, but we love the big glass window, open the view towards CBD area. You can even spot few Singapore iconic building such as the Esplanade.
The bathroom with fancy mozaic tiles, similar to their facade colour template.
Bathroom toiletries and refill water bottle.
Yes, this is the view i was talking about. Not so sure what’s the function of the shelves beside the light.
View top down from our room’s window.
City view from our room.
My first OOTD at the corridor in front of our room.

Tiering greens! Love how concrete and plaster and paint (which is cheap material) can become like this.
Ok then we come back again to lobby area.
There are few feature screen.
And the walkway along Upper Pickering Street. This is a public walkway, so actually without staying at hotel you can enjoy this area.
The detail is very pinterish.
